CALIFORNIA PHEASANT AND UPLAND GAME BIRD STAMPS


California Pheasant Stamps. Issued 1970-74

This series, issued by the California Department of Fish and Game, was required for pheasant hunting, and supported the propagation and release     of adult male pheasants during the hunting season. The stamps replaced the previous "pheasant tag" program. The stamps were discontinued after 1974  when management emphasis focused on habitat improvement rather than direct stocking of birds.
