Historic cover flown on the first transatlantic flight of the Hindenburg (LZ-129) , postmarked May 11, 1936, at Lakehurst, New Jersey. It bears the official purple flight cachet depicting the route to Frankfurt-am-Main , and backstamped in Germany on May 14, 1936 .
