Offered is a rare 1928 Graf Zeppelin First Flight Airmail postcard from Lakehurst, New Jersey to Germany. Franked with a block of ten 2c "Molly Pitcher" overprints, plus 30c, 3c, and 1c values for correct franking. The card is boldly canceled October 28, 1928, Lakehurst, with purple flight cachets including the classic Roessler "Statue of Liberty" poster stamp at left. Addressed in Roessler's hand, this striking piece was prepared by him as part of his early promotional campaign for Zeppelin mail. A beautiful and well-preserved example of a scarce flight cover.
