S. overprinted "Initial Flight" stamps issued in the Philippines, all tied by Manila cancels. Black boxed flight cachet outlines the full transpacific route. Addressed to Massachusetts, with return address from a U. S. Marine in Shanghai. San Francisco receiving mark on reverse. A scarce and highly desirable early Clipper cover.
