Duck stamps are more than just collectibles. They're part of one of America's most successful conservation efforts, helping protect wetlands and wildlife habitats for generations to come.

The story began in 1929, when Congress authorized the purchase of land for migratory birds. What was missing was a reliable way to pay for it. In 1934, the Federal Duck Stamp Program provided the answer by requiring waterfowl hunters to purchase a stamp, with proceeds helping fund habitat conservation.

These funds help protect wetlands, marshes, grasslands, and other important habitat across the United States. These places give ducks and geese places to nest, feed, rest, and raise their young. Wetlands also benefit herons and many other birds and wildlife, from songbirds to mammals, reptiles and fish.

Our national wildlife refuges are open to everyone and can be enjoyed for birdwatching, wildlife photography, hiking, and fishing.

Federal Duck Stamps aren't the only stamps with a conservation purpose. Many state duck stamps and stamps issued by wildlife organizations have also raised funds for habitat protection, wildlife management, research, and conservation education.

TR Duck Stamps, Etc. and Wetland Conservation

For decades, TR Duck Stamps has been buying and selling Federal Duck Stamps, helping collectors enjoy these beautiful stamps while supporting the conservation program behind them.

While reselling older collectible stamps does not create a new contribution to the fund, TR Duck Stamps continues to purchase thousands of dollars' worth of newly issued Federal Duck Stamps, helping support the Migratory Bird Conservation Fund. When customers purchase those stamps from us, they help keep that cycle going.
