Brady & Co's Penny Post 23L1, forgery US Local Post Stamp

Presumed forgery of Brady & Co.'s Penny Post 1 stamp, modeled after the scarce 23L1 issue attributed to circa 1860. Printed in red with ornate scrollwork and the central inscription ONE CENT / BRADY & COS / CHICAGO / PENNY POST. The genuine 23L1 was printed in violet and remains of uncertain authenticity per Scott Catalog (L74), and all known originals are in a different design style. Offered here is a red example likely produced as a fantasy or imitation.
