Offered is an original cover postmarked October 28, 1928, carried by Graf Zeppelin on its Europe-Pan America flight from Lakehurst, New Jersey to Germany. The envelope bears three U.S. stamps including a 5c Beacon Airmail issue, and is neatly typed and addressed to Berlin. It features a crisp magenta "First Flight Airmail / United States - Germany" cachet and a Lakehurst machine cancel, with a Friedrichshafen receiver dated 8.11.28 on the reverse.
