Native Species Stamps

California Native Species Stamps were issued beginning in 1989 to feature wildlife other than waterfowl. Early designs include the Peregrine Falcon by Harry Adamson and the Desert Tortoise by B.L. Hilgert, followed by the Tule Elk, White Pelican, Kern Primrose Sphinx Moth, and Tiger Salamander.
