Jicarilla Apache
The Jicarilla Apache Reservation in northern New Mexico began issuing tribal hunting and fishing stamps in 1988. These stamps, many die-cut or rouletted with peelable or gummed backs, were used to regulate outdoor activities like deer, elk, bear, turkey, and rainbow trout fishing. Featuring serial numbers and distinct tribal seals, Jicarilla stamps reflect the Tribe’s stewardship of one of the Southwest’s last unspoiled hunting regions.
