San Carlos Apache

The San Carlos Indian Reservation, located in southeastern Arizona, is home to the San Carlos Apache Tribe and spans over 1.8 million acres of forest, desert, and alpine terrain. First issued in 1997, the tribe’s habitat stamps feature hand-applied serial numbers and were often reused across years through overprinting. Production increased in 2002 with distinct printings and format changes. These stamps are required for non-member waterfowl hunters and represent part of the tribe’s fish and wildlife licensing system.
